Irritating Bluetooth icon in Windows Vista

If a computer running Windows Vista has a Bluetooth adapter connected, an icon with a characteristic blue logo is displayed in the system tray. Double-clicking it opens a window, where on the Options tab you can theoretically disable it, but it’s not entirely true. The icon will disappear for a moment, but will come back to its place after a restart. It can be bloody irritating, but as of now I haven’t found a way to get rid of that icon from the lower right corner of the screen other than disabling the Bluetooth controller or hiding inactive icons (none of these solutions is satisfactory for me).
